These are our deepest convictions:

When the General Council of the Assemblies of God was founded in 1914, we adopted a statement of faith that has stood the test of time.  We call these 16 beliefs the “Fundamental Truths.” (Statement of Fundamental Truths)

Four of these beliefs are our Cardinal Doctrines.

1.  The Salvation of Man

All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  Salvation comes only by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins.

2.  Baptism in the Holy Spirit

Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a separate experience from Salvation, available to all believers.  We believe the initial physical evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is Speaking in Tongues.

3.  Divine Healing

Healing is provided to every believer through Christ’s suffering and death for our reconciliation with God.  By His (Jesus’) stripes, we are healed.

4.  The Blessed Hope

The Blessed Hope is referred to as the Rapture, when Jesus comes in the clouds to receive His bride.  Those who have died will raise from their graves and those who are alive will be caught up (raptured) with them to be with the Lord.
